This is an interesting union between the robot and fantasy genres based amongst other things on the concept of alternating dimensions.
Byston Well is a world half way between high technology and mediaeval times in which the evil King Drake Luft governs his people despotically. A group of young rebels endeavour in every way to oppose his supremacy. These forces fight each other using complex insect like devices and combat orientated bio mechanisms which need the power of Aura in order to function. One day, the cross-country motorcycle racer Sho Zama turns up and happens to end up in a dimensional borderline between our world and Byston.
The youth discovers that he is endowed with a mysterious mental power which allows him to become a pilot. He initially enrols in Drake's army. Before long, having discovered the king's real nature, he decides to side with the rebels and places himself at the controls of the powerful bio-mechanical robot Dubine.
